What are the sights to see on the way to Miho’s? (or the simpler “What can I see on the way to Miho’s?”)
The journey to the mountain house is an adventure in itself. Here’s what’s worth seeing along the way:
The cliffs at the Georgian-Turkish border. Breathtaking views and great photo opportunities.
Akhalsopeli and the Chorokhi River. The road runs alongside a scenic mountain river.
Where the Chorokhi and Adjaristskali meet. Two rivers come together in one spot.
Levani Gorge. The location of the cult classic film “Marry the Captain”.
Gvara Fortress. Climb up to an ancient watchtower (260 steps, and it’s worth it!). Nearby, you can taste Maya’s one-of-a-kind homemade tinctures.
A World War II cannon. An unusual piece of history right by the roadside.
An ancient water mill. It sits on a mountain river and is still impressive today.
Tip: Set off early and take your time. You’ll want to linger at every stop.
